Nomen est omen

Just a quick thought here. Can anyone remember how we used to give people a name that was probably no where near their real name than fly in the air. For example: there was an old chap who lived in a ground floor flat which had a large back green which we called the jungle. This old boy was quite old and what was left of his hair was white. What did we used to call him? Mr White of course. The guy in the garden next door had curly hair, guess what his name was! Can you think of any other fitting names?

Tuesday Lost? Now there is a mystery.

Ah good old Tuesday loss. In fact there is supposed to be a simple explanation for this name. It is said that the aforementioned ( who was also quite keen on horses) aka Gee Gee, lost a rather large bet on the horses on a Tuesday. That's where the name comes from. At some stage ,either before or after the large bet, he was apparently kicked in the head by a horse which rendered him quite FUBAR. Perhaps he was called Gee Gee because he was built like a horse! Neigh!!!

I forgot he was called Gee Gee. He used to give you a good chase if you shouted that at him. All the other workers having a fly fag at Banks' loading bay use to fall about laughing as he ran after us.

We'd be off like a shot giving it horse noises all the way to Braid Place.
